Yama Sushi and Izakaya in Portland Oregon!

My favorite Japanese restaurant is Yama Sushi and Izakaya in Portland, Oregon!

I have been going to Yama Sushi and Izakaya for so many years. And every time I eat here, I’m never disappointed! The hostess, servers, and chefs are always so nice and sweet! Honestly, it is the best customer service I’ve ever experienced at a restaurant!

Since I have been going to Yama Sushi and Izakaya for so many years, the chefs gave me my own chopsticks box to customize to hang on their wall!

Japanese Garden in Portland, Oregon!

My friend, Caet, and I had the opportunity to visit the Japanese Garden in Portland, Oregon!

“For more than 50 years, the Portland Japanese Garden has been a haven of serenity and tranquility, nestled in Washington Park in Portland, Oregon. It is considered the most authentic Japanese garden outside of Japan and one of the foremost Japanese cultural organizations in North America. As a top visitor destination in Oregon, the Portland Japanese Garden originally served 30,000 annual visitors. The Garden now welcomes more than 350,000 guests per year, a number that continues to grow annually.” More information about the Japanese Garden: Here.

When Caet and I first entered the Japanese Garden, we had the opportunity to be a part of a traditional tea ceremony in one of their buildings that was at the top of the stairs called Tsubo-Niwa. Really glad that we had the opportunity to be a part of a traditional tea ceremony because we learned so much about tea and tea etiquette!

After the traditional tea ceremony, Caet and I walked around the Japanese Garden which I will explain more in depth below!

Overall, the Japanese Garden was so beautiful! They recently did a remodel, which had a 33.5 million dollar expansion budget. If you ever decide to visit Portland, Oregon, this is a must see!

SomiSomi! The Cutest Ice Cream to Eat!

A few weeks ago I came across a video called, ‘Americans try Japanese Ice Cream Cones’ by Buzzfeed. To try the Japanese ice cream cones, three women from Buzzfeed went to SomiSomi, an ice cream store that is located on the second floor of Madang Mall Plaza in Korea town, Los Angeles, California.

Since I was in Los Angeles, California, I had to try it!

For my ice cream flavors, I got milk and matcha.

For my fish pastry filling, I got custard.

For my toppings, I got matcha powder, sprinkles, graham crackers, and a strawberry.

Shuhari Matcha Cafe!

As I was walking down Abbot Kinney Boulevard in Los Angeles, California, I came across Shuhari Matcha Cafe, which is an authentic Japanese green tea cafe!

Since I am obsessed with anything that has matcha in it, I of course had to go inside to purchase a drink!

After some time of looking over their amazing menu, I decided to order the real matcha shake.

It was SO delicious! Wish they had Shuhari Matcha Cafe in Portland, Oregon.

What are your favorite matcha drinks?
